MySA has a very positive review (http://www.mysanantonio.com/entertainment/restaurant/Review_Chauma_Gaucha_Brazilian_Steakhouse.html - broken link) of Chama Gaucha, the new Brazilian steakhouse. Here are a couple of restaurant openings from today's MySA Taste section.

Meson European Dining has opened on 1604 at Hardy Oak Blvd.

Earl of Sandwich has opened a second location in town at 5238 De Zavala Rd.

Is this like an all-you-can-eat steak? (Chama Gaúcha)
How much is the damage? I checked their website but didn't see the prices? or missed it...

On the right side of the review page were the prices: Lunch, salad bar and meats, $19.50; salad only, $15.50.
Dinner, salad bar and meats, $33.50; salad only, $19.50

It is all you can eat of more than 8 kinds of meat (including chicken rolled in bacon, bacon-wrapped filet mignon, beef rib-eye, prime sirloin, leg of lamb, lamb chops, pork loin and ribs, bottom sirloin and pork sausages) that are described more fully in the third paragraph from the end of the review (http://www.mysanantonio.com/entertainment/restaurant/Review_Chauma_Gaucha_Brazilian_Steakhouse.html - broken link).

Riverwalk is a tourist trap.

It seems these days you have to go to Houston for the best seafood. Or Galveston (very fresh). I think Pappas is a Houston-based place that expanded.

Great to see all these other new ones coming in though!

I noticed tonight that El Papalote, a Taco and Mexican Grill restaurant has opened on 1604 near Stone Oak Parkway. It appears from the web site that El Papalote is a Mexico-based chain and this is the first US location.
