I sure wish they'd put a Rudy's somewhere near Helotes. I love their BBQ chicken! I was in Helotes today and thinking about chicken that wasn't fried, maybe baked or BBQ. Bill Miller's fried chicken is good, but I try to avoid the fried stuff most of the time. So I decided to try the half chicken that was on their menu, along with some sausage. They failed to give me the sausage link I ordered, even though I was pretty clear about asking for it, had to go back for it and wait again. Then I tried to eat the chicken...yuch, it wasn't even cooked enough...hope I don't get sick! And it didn't taste good anyway. Why aren't there any more Rudy's? I think there's only 3 in the whole S.A. area! Their stuff is so good, there should be lots of them! Why is there so many Bill Miller's places and you have to go far to go to a Rudy's?

If you live in Helotes, it's not that far to the SH 151 Rudy's. That's my best answer. Bill Miller's is just calories.

Two new southtown openings (actually sharing a building on S St. Mary's near Alamo intersection) from the folks behind Blue Box and other great cocktail places:
Francis Bogside-Full bar along with Irish inspired small plates
Brigid- Full bar (by legendary Olaf Harmel) and fine dining from Chef Chris Carlson (ex-Sandbar)
Brigid | San Antonio, Texas
Francis Bogside | San Antonio, TX

I was disappointed to learn Bolner's Market closed down their dinning area. The parking lot was nearly empty during lunch.

You would have thought that by bringing in customers to dine-in, it would help sell more meat at the butcher market side. Seems like a bad business decision to me.

I'm not sure people discovered their meat market by visiting them for lunch. It's not like it has much in the way of drive-by traffic that would be potential customers for their butcher shop.

It will mean they will be expanding their offerings of cold-cuts, cheeses and other meat items. Unfortunately, they said they won't be carrying any deli style sides anymore.

I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with.

I was there for happy hour a few weeks ago and yup it was just a mess, great drinks and apps and they messed up our order and we got 3 extra plates. Strong drinks but the waitstaff seemed like they didn't care.

Yet another place that has failed there, so sad the places that have been there the last 10 years after Boccone's closed.
