410 Diner...closed permanently?!!!! Are you sure that they're closed for good? Maybe they're just closed for the 4th of July. I hope it's not true! I LOVE 410 Diner and still have "buy one get one free" coupons to use.

There was no sign. The parking lot was empty, the doors were wide open, a pickup truck was backed up to the doors and the booths appeared to be piled on top of each other. That's why I said "appeared to be" closed. It could be that they were just waxing the floors.

Hopefully only a new floor. It was packed when I went by Wednesday night.

I passed by there a little while ago, and the truck backed up to the front doors had something in the back that looked like it may have been a floor buffer (a handle sticking up with a long, heavy-gauge bright-yellow cord wrapped around it). The doors were closed, and there were a couple of people just sitting on the truck tailgate. All the restaurant's signs were still intact, and I could see no other activity taking place.

So, it looked to me like they were probably just refinishing the floors. Seems like they do a pretty good business there, but you never know...

It's on 281 and Redland. I think it's a horrible place to open up another bar. There's already Mulligan's and Scout Bar in the same strip center. There's never anywhere to park when Scout Bar has a concert, which is pretty often. Also, Kluzos has the WORST sign. You can't even read what it says from the highway. My husband and I were wondering what it said, so we drove in and had to go up to the window to read the sign that was printed in the window. Sorry to be Negative Nancy about the place! I just think they could have chosen a better location and sign. Hopefully their drinks and food are good!

Chinese restaurant coming to the Medical Center.

Quote:
Two co-founders in a well-known Chinese restaurant operation are investing in what has become one of the city’s busiest corridors.

Mike and Jennifer Hu of San Antonio-based Taipei Group have purchased a little over one acre of land at Huebner and USAA Boulevard on the city’s Northwest Side for a new restaurant.

Plans call for what Jennifer Hu describes as a “fine dining Chinese restaurant.”

Presently, Taipei Group boasts various concepts in the city — including China Latina in South Town, just south of San Antonio; Taipei Gourmet in Castle Hills and Sushihana, on the city’s North Central Side; and Taipei Restaurant in Stone Oak, in far North San Antonio.
