That's not surprising it seems the Fiesta Trail area is declining with all of the development at the Rim.

I heard Joe's instituted a pilot "No Tipping" program at 18 of its restaurants across the nation, and raised prices, along with server's wages at those locations to compensate, but the trial balloon failed, and the program was cancelled. I gather the DeZavala location was one of the 18, and just couldn't recover? The other San Antonio locations are still open, apparently.

It's just sad to see the area decline. I remember driving to the pile of first that the target spot was on with my father and sister when the area was being built. I don't know if anything can save this spot. I'm surprised target isn't a Halloween store yet ( or is it? I'll be home this weekend),

Taking out the Barnes and Noble was sad. It was easy to get to as compared to going into La Cantera.

Default Florio's Pizza to add location - Bandera/1604

SAN ANTONIO Florio's Pizza, a favorite in Alamo Heights for more than two decades, is expanding to the Northwest Side as soon as next month, the restaurant's owner said in an interview Wednesday.
The New York-style pizza joint, located at 7701 Broadway Street, opened in San Antonio in 1990 after the Florio family moved from New Jersey. The current location, near Basse Road, opened in 1995, the family said, adding that it was one of the first NYC-style pizza shop in the area.

Default Signature, by Andrew Weissman, to open November 21st.

Signature, the restaurant at the La Cantera Resort & Spa that could propel Andrew Weissman back into national prominence, has set an opening date of Nov. 21.
The resort is describing the setting and the food as "South Texas meets the South of France," and it will give a refined sense of place with its landscaping, a floor from reclaimed wood from the former Joske's department store, along with rustic design touches such as an antique fireplace mantle and a wooden door from France.
