Yes, heard about that one the other day. It's going into the former La Parroquia/Las Palapas/Rooty's building behind Chili's.

Looks really good and we’ll be trying it when it opens. But...I’m gonna call it now. I bet this place doesn’t make it here in SA. You know how things roll here in this town.

It doesn't strike me as a very good omen that it will be going into a location that hasn't seen long-term success by previous eateries. The building had been sitting vacant for several years before Rooty's went in there in the early 1990s. I don't think the most recent tenant (La Parroquia) lasted more than two years before they closed in 2017.

I am making this guess based off the success of Torchy's Tacos. I am going to bet they will be successful here in San Antonio as well.

Of course the location may determine otherwise as ged pointed out.

Jim's and Magic Time Machine have been in that area FOREVER and are successful. I have yet to be to a Cabo Bob's but I have heard people say good things about it up here.

I hope you’re right! And I love Torchys for the record even though lots give it crap.

Went to Kirby’s this past weekend and was surprised to see River City Seafood dark. Apparently they’ve gone completely out of business.

Yes, they closed suddenly a few weeks back.

Heard after I posted that they will or have filed for bankruptcy. Probably typical restaurant in leased space problem of few assets and too much debt.
