I will cook a good cuisine meal for $500 and no tip (what a bargain!). My gosh I would spend the $500.00 on 2 months worth of groceries.

Another reason why locals (and visitors in the know) are flocking to the Pearl and Southtown for restaurants - they actually have great, original concepts that bring something new to San Antonio.
Oh man, it's closed. When i was 16 in 1996, my girlfriend (at the time) and I skipped out on a bill after ordering a very good lunch at Zuni on the river-walk in the middle of the day. I would never consider doing something like that these days. I should've paid them back with interest before they closed.

I haven;t been out there in a while, but the Strand at Huebner Oaks now has a Zoe's Kitchen where several different restaurants have been...I remember one was a coffee shop. I love Zoe's at the Quarry and hope this one sticks as well.

The new dog-friendly place in that space has the same owners. You can send your money there.

The Picky Deli in Universal City is i guess closed? There is a sign at the little plaza it's located in that says coming soon,Dreamers Diner, lunch specials.UNLESS the owners decided to change the name of the place.

Went to "Inferno's Pizzeria" in Gruene last night with the wife and our daughter that came down from Austin.

Wish I could report on the food, but between the acoustic's in this place (think of an empty warehouse echo), and the kids being allowed to run around like it was a McDonald's playground (this is $20-30 pie, NOT a dive), it wasn't very pleasant on the ears. When my daughter said that she couldn't hear me from the other side of the table, I knew it was time to go.

Hopefully, they'll learn a way to tactfully ask parents to actually PARENT their kids - and do something about the horrid acoustics in the place. It was a shame, because this is a brick over pizzeria, and we were REALLY looking forward to it!
