We tried Urban Bricks in Universal City. Pizza was OK. You order it Subway style and tell them what toppings and how much. I felt it was undercooked. We shared a pizza and a panini. The panini was not good at all. The bread is so heavy and thick and we asked for no sundried tomatoes and it was loaded with them. They don't taste good even though we really tried picking them all off. I think they are normally made in front of you but the bread wasn't ready so we had already gotten into our seats when they made it (it was nearly 1:00 on Saturday afternoon so not sure why the bread wasn't ready?)

I won't go out of the way to eat there but in a pinch I'd stop for a salad or a pizza, not a panini. And that gelato they had displayed looked really good.

The Urban bricks at the Rim do not offer Paninis or Gelato.

The paninis don't show up on the online menu either, but they have them at the Pat Booker location.

Default Egg and I

I missed the post about Egg an I being closed in S.A. Just tried to look them up and they all looked to be closed down.

But the good news is that many (or is it all?) of them are now an even better breakfast and lunch establishment named First Watch.

Isn't it just a rebranding by the same outfit?

Anybody say that Texas Land and Cattle on I-10 bit the dust?

Not sure about that particular location, but I believe there was mention of other locations. Apparently, TL&C closed a number of their restaurants chainwide last year.

I just happened to drive past the I-10 W location yesterday afternoon, and there is either a For Sale or For Lease sign in front. And while we're on the restaurant opening/closing subject, I noticed there were no cars at all parked anywhere around the BreWingz next door to that former TL&C location. Looking up the BreWingz website, it's showing Walzem road as the only San Antonio location.

Looked up Texas Land and Cattle Steak house.Their location on Loop410 over near North Star Mall is closed. Only location listed is for N.St.Mary's St. in San Antonio. Went there a year or two ago for TJMAXX. It was the 15th anniversery . Company paid for everything. By the way, heard that we are opening a combo store on Loop1604 and Potranco. One side will be TJMAXx and right next door will be Home Goods.
