As someone who tends to try new places at dinner time, I can't stand places that close at 3pm that serve food.

Oh, there is a BJ's Brew House being built next to Longhorn Steakhouse in Live Oak. FINALLY was able to see the name on the banner.

Methinks it was simple lack of customers.

Every time I was there, it was a dreary, silent experience.

Food was good, but portions were tiny and overpriced for what it was.

A new shop in Balcones Heights may be called Old Fashioned Sticky Buns, but it's serving up more than just its titular treat, MySA reports.

Sure, sticky buns are the star at the new spot, located at 2317 Vance Jackson Road, which even offers a build-your-own cinnamon bun bar. However, those who lean to the savory side can choose between a trio of sandwiches and soups for lunch. And those who like to marry sweet and savory can opt for the cinnamon roll breakfast sandwich, made with the namesake bun, egg, cheese and your choice of bacon or sausage.

Certainly is hopeful seeing openings versus the closings we have experienced.

Okay but I just noticed that the Torchy's on Wurzbach is right next to the P. Terry's and this brings joy to my Austin-based but San Antonio raised heart. They need to plop some Amy's, an Antonelli's cheese shop, and a random craft brewer in that spot and I will move back to the Medical Center in a heartbeat.

(But as an aside Torchy's is too pricey and over rated and I only go in a pinch or when getting my oil changed at the fly-by-night dealership next door to the Torchy's on South Congress).
