Not sure if that's not exaggerated, but just saw this headline: (SAEN)
Weather alert: Extra emergency prep ordered as tropical depression heads to Texas
Hazardous rain and possible tornadoes could hit San Antonio this weekend.
Weather forecast 35-40% rain which translates to 0% rain in my area... (Terrell Hills)

People do need to take precautions if they live in low water areas. I would start to really think about if the models still have it meandering for two days just south of San Antonio like the last round did. Currently one model puts our total at 6.9 inches, another at 21 inches and another at less than 1 inch.

We really do need to be prepared but not panicked. SanAntonio as been very good about not letting people build in flood plains on the newer sides of town.

Current model has a 9"-12' accumulation Saturday- Monday. If spread out, not worried. I worry about the 1"/hours for several hours.

More worried of winds in excess of 40 MPH I wonder if there is any CPS plan to have prepositioned power recovery crews around town. Have they called north Texas communities for assistance?

On KENS 5 this morning, Jared Silverman estimated 4"-8" rainfall accumulation in Bexar County, with the eastern portion of the County likely to get the 8", and the western portion more likely to get 4".

I have been reviewing Eric Holthaus's twitter feed for updates on Harvey. He seems to be closely monitoring the situation and it doesn't look good.

Quote:
Latest (06Z) HWRF, one of the best models we have, shows #Harvey as a major hurricane in about 36 hours.
This should be leading the news.

Wondering if it will be like Hermine in 2010. Y'all seem to have forecasted more rain than we do up in Austin, but I guess it all depends on whether it shifts a bit north. I rarely get home sick for SA but my family loves weather and we usually sit in front of the TV and watch the Weather channel during these types of events.

Grill gazebo is staked to the ground, but thinking I may add a few cinder blocks for peace of mind.
And I shouldn't have to say this, but there's always that one person... turn around, don't drown.
