Reported by CBS news. This is going to change the demographics of San Antonio a little bit, more competition for jobs, and more crime as these are people who lost everything and will be starting over. I've seen this happen in Albuquerque when they bussed in refugees from New Orleans after Katrina. I hope this is fake news. I'm just the messenger.

We had refugees from Katrina who relocated here permanently too. We had between 25,000 and 35,000 refugees, but I don't know how many stayed permanently.

I feel really bad for the people who relocated to Houston after they lost everything in Katrina, and now they're having to go through the same thing all over again.

Really, refugees? Houstonians are part of the US, which makes them "evacuees".

Good luck with that! We had just bought a new home in SA when Katrina folks were moved in to townhomes by our neighborhood. They never left and the neighborhood changed for the worse.

They were welcome at the beginning. What they did was show no gratitude by trashing up a nice area.

I hope our Houston "evacuees" are different than Katrina's. Phil Hardberger, mayor at that time, refused to allow a tally of the crimes committed by them, a number that would have sickened our residents.Houston kept a running tally and "encouraged" the New Orleans citizens to return.

Well Phil lives in Monte Vista so he wasn't personally affected.
