Public Transport folks. Now is the time to start researching your routes - and asking VIA to initiate more.

Trouble with public transportation in San Antonio is that it's out of reach of a lot of people. They have to walk a few miles to the bus stop since a park-and-ride isn't nearby. Or if there is a park-and-ride available, it's quickly overflown with cars. I wonder if there will be a permanent shift in transportation habits in Texas because of this situation or if people will just go right back to their old habits as soon as all this blows over? Interesting to think about.

On a personal note, has anyone seen any premium fuel available? My family has only 1 car needing premium fuel but some friends need it desperately since it's their only car. Both times the tanker's come to the Shell at the Encino Rio station, there was no premium fuel. Has anyone seen it? Thank you in advance for your help, much appreciated!

Soviet, they make an Octane Booster you can buy at the car parts houses - it's not perfect, but it'll get them over the hump.

TexasRedneck, would it really be enough of a boost to use in a Mercedes-Benz or a Corvette with regular fuel?

It worked on my Harley - and it was REALLY picky on fuel. Again - not perfect, but it ran a LOT better than it would have on regular.

Hmmm. Very interesting. Since you put it in your Harley, it's got a small tank, right? You didn't use up the whole bottle for your Harley, right? Which brand did you use? (I think there are multiple brands?) STP is good?

Since I run a boosted engine, I only got premium when I filled up. I don't trust octane boosters myself.

Wish I remembered the brand - but I don't, sorry! Realistically, any name brand should work just fine.

That's my problem with public transportation, it's more than a mile to the bus stop and my daughter has a heat allergy, so this time of year it's impossible.

Traditional public transportation is pretty much a non-starter for Texas - especially in San Antonio. We don't have the high density, concentrated work/employment centers that the northern states do, and the workforce is scattered over a broad area. Park and Rides are the best possible work-around, and even those are limited. We need to recognize that and stop trying to shove it down folks' throats.
