It's at Stone Oak and 1604. How is that not really in SA?

Oh, it's not SA to me...I don't think the city should continue on an outward expansion. When I have to drive 20 minutes outside the city, it's not the city anymore.

build up, not out.

Then go to Justin's.

Either way, a man's gotta have his ice cream.

Remember Knowlton's? I used to love their ice cream. The vanilla was pure white and they made a cherries and vanilla which was superb.
Old man Knowlton, who established the dairy was an orphan and my grandfather took him in. Knowlton worked for the family dairy. The Yantis dairy on the west side had 500 cows back in the 1880's to 1920's. My oldest uncle wanted nothing to do with the dairy so he sold his share to Knowlton. My uncle went into the automobile business and made a nice fortune in the 20's. Second Ford dealership in SA.
Knowlton took over the dairy and his Knowlton creamery was part of it. Knowlton family later sold it to Oak Farms. Knowlton family didn't want to stay on the farm either.

Amy's Dark Chocolate is my all-time favorite ice cream. Brindle's is very good, too. I like their Red Velvet ice cream, though they don't always have it. Baskin-Robbins is OK (I always thought World Class Chocolate was good - and low-fat, too, as I recall), but my big complaint with B-R is that they almost always have ice crystals in the ice cream, which I think is caused by using a really wet scoop? I need to try Justin's and DaVinci, but they're gonna have to pretty darn good to beat Amy's Dark Chocolate!

MARBLE SLAB CREAMERY ALL DAY LOOOONG!
Great product, they make the icecream in the back, the waffle cones infront of you and the sky is the limit as far as mix-ins.
Just opened one at the 1604 and 281 @ the Legacy shopping center by Life Time Fitness. I also go to the one @ La Cantera Mall, if it wasn't for the long lines!

The Marble Slab on Broadway (in Alamo Heights) recently shuttered its doors. I'm not going into why it closed, but it's for a really odd reason.
