[quote=Merovee;29033184]Awesome photo!!! Could you tell us about the brick with the actual Alamo embossed on it?

I used to work at Joske's downtown. I recall on the east side of the
Crockett Hotel area & beyond . Old buildings were being demolished.
Underneath the old buildings were remnants of older structures . A
dried up water way like an acequia. The stones were similar to the
ones at the Alamo. The old brick from a later period was there too.
I carved the facade of the Alamo. It's been 50 years or so.
The workers were just doing their job so I don't blame them.
It was kind of sad that this was being destroyed forever.I thought
it must have been important at one time & part of our history of old
San Antonio.

That is more than kinda sad but what a nice memento of a bygone era and your carving is very nice indeed. It looks very much like the Alamo so kudos on your talent, it musta took ages to carve that.

I was born in the Nix!! Love the view of Tower Life Building.

All these pics look better than real life. I never see that much color standing there in real life.

Actually the carving was easy because the material was old/soft. I have a
knack for doing this fast, I enjoy it. I like painting too...but that is harder for
me. If you speak to me about the values of color & so on...I'm lost ...
I just keep at it until I'm sort of satisfied.
Here's some samples that my ego says..".go for it & post " !
