You don't consider Type O Negative to be Metal...of the gothic school? I heard plenty of Metal on there...and other Hard Rock...that isn't to say it wasn't the more commercial metal but still there was plenty of metal on there...

90.1 is good, if you catch them during good programming, and the DJ at the moment is halfway decent. 99.5 does play some good music, but it's repetitive. They sometimes play the same songs EVERY DAY. They really know how to drive a good song into the ground!

This town desperately needs an alternative station. When 96.1 started out it was pretty good but like many others, they have went to crap as well.

For the last few years, I simply stopped listening to the radio all together.

I like listening to Lyle and Hahn in the mornings chiefly because they DON'T play much music. I'm not a big metal fan. The only other stations I liston to are KSYM's Third Coast Network and NPR. Most, if not all, of the commercial radio stations programming is controlled by someone who is just looking at the areas demographics and who has been greasing their palms.

I love KISS but they have way to many commercials.
Do you know when 97.7 started out? They must be brand new. I can't find any info on the web about it. No commercials though, not bad. I get sketchy signal at my house in Converse.

I'm so over all of the radio stations in this town, that I switched to Satellite Radio in 05. I'd never go back. If you wnat better selection and more music switch to Sirius or XM.

I just can't get behind the idea of paying for radio. We had XM on our rental this week, and while we enjoyed the comedy channels, I just can't see paying for it. To each his own!
