Look, you get what you pay for. Satellite Radio pays for itself, in the hours of entertainment you get. Your going to spend $13 bucks a month on soemthing you don't really need anyways, why not spend it on something you will truly enjoy.
I'm tired of the commercials, crappy boring morning shows, and repetitve playlists.
To each his own, but I think pepople need to get over the "I'm not going to pay for radio when it's free"
100% commercial free music, so of the best talk shows around, and the best in different stations dedicated to different genres. Something you cannot find in this town, or many other big cities. Terrestrial radio is dying out, and it's time to realize that.
Hope evreyone is having a great weekend holiday.

I can say "but", because I'm expressing my opinon. not trying to argue )
You heard commercials on XM because they have certain stations which are run by Clear channel. They allow commercials on those channels.
I subscribe to Sirius, so there are no commercials on the Music channels.
I hate Clear Channel!!!!!!
I always advise people to do the online free trial for both XM and Sirius, this way you know what your getting, and which service will be better for you.
I'll keep paying for Satellite Radio, everyone else can keep these god awful radio stations in SA.

I will tell ya XM saved me some grief and kept me safe. Couple years ago I was driving from Dallas to Atlanta during some really bad storms. There are two routes I can take. I was going to take 20 and I heard on the radio as I was hitting the road that tornados were going thru the entire route I was headed on. Changed my route. Ironically a friend of mine decided to take 20 and it took her an extra day to get home. So for me, I swear by it. I'll cut starbucks any day for it

I don't drink Starbucks, but good for you! I'm sure they have tons of customers, but I'm in my car for about 25 minutes each way. I'm thinking I'll survive with the free stuff. But, like I said, to each their own.

Living in SA since 1973, the only "good" fm radio station they ever had was KXEL. It was semi-underground but the music was great.

Do you know when 97.7 started out? They must be brand new. I can't find any info on the web about it. No commercials though, not bad. I get sketchy signal at my house in Converse.
|
97-7 Rock was launched on March 14 and is owned and operated by Univision Radio. Univision launched 97-7 Rock after 99.5 KISS knocked 98.5 The Beat off the top spot also owned by Univision.

I agree. I think Q101.9 sounds much better now than it did in the past.

Oh my. I just turned on the radio for the first time since 2002.
Has anyone tried the digital OTA radio on SA?

I used to say I'd never pay for radio, but living in san antonio has changed my mind. when that little check from president bush shows up, I'll be jumping on the sirius radio bandwagon.
