Maybe I'm just getting too old, but I stopped listening to 101X a few years ago when the "alternative rock" they were playing started to sound an awful lot like metal. To me, true alternative is the stuff of college radio like REM, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Echo and the Bunnymen, etc, and that's the type of music they used to play. To me, it seems like alternative has (had) become more hard rock-ish. I haven't listened to 101X for a long time, though, so maybe that trend has swung back again. Maybe I'll give it another try...

Our ages show in how we define 101X. When I was at UT I listened to Everclear, Sponge, The Prodigy, Foo Fighters, Weezer, Chemical Brothers, etc. and that was what they played a lot of on 101X. I listen to Lucy on XM and I swear they downloaded playlists from 101X and copied them.

I love KISS but they have way to many commercials.

i get a pretty good signal in round rock, that's just north of austin. so yeah, really good station i love it. they play way too much linkin park though.

does anyone know if they have a website?

101x.....metal? I wish that were true. i love my 101x, but the need to play more rock, instead of music that borders on rock pop.

I have to agree with this. I love the morning show but what they play sucks. I only listen to radio in my car and it's set at 102.7.

For those who are rockers, good alternatives are Q94.5 (Q94.5 The Rock Station » Homepage) in Brownsville and C101 (www.c101.com) in Corpus Christi. Both stream online.

92.5, The Outlaw, is awesome. Texas/Americana music. My only complaint is that they don't always name the artist.

99.5 Kiss FM suckssss .... its nothing like use to be in its glory years ..dont get me started .. i mean come Lisle & Hahn suck lol.. they are nothing like the late bless his soul the god Father of Rock Joe Anthony .....that man was a god when 99.5 Kiss FM was a great station ..i am sure there alot of older people who remember him.... he was good at puting out great new music ...but at last all good things must come to a end huh ....Lisle & Hahn all they talk about is there teenage daughters and dream of their glory years .. some plzzzzzz put them out of their misry lol....sorry but i am 28 years old and i really wish 99.5 Kiss Fm would be better .....
