Not to divert but it is quite easy to throw out shotgun cliches. Most police are not expert firearms users. So if you want to get a gun for home defense, it is very important to get quality training on usage and avoid the Internet BS.

There are quality trainers in the area.

I think its about time people stood up for our LEO's. Too many downplaying what they are facing out there in the real world. A lot of armchair quarterbacking. IMO, you don't like what you see.. go out and police it up on your own and see if you do any better.

yeah there are some out there that need to be policed up but hell give them some credit where it is due.. Sometimes I feel like the criminal element is winning in this damn country...

He did exactly what he was suppose to do and no apologies are due. I have sympathy for the policeman. Even though he was in the right and did his job as he has been trained to do in order to protect and serve, he has to live with his actions and it will be on his conscience and that, to me, is just another strike against the moron he killed. I have absolutely no sympathy for the idiot criminal and actually anger at him for putting the police officers through this ordeal, especially the one officer who shot him.
