Wife and I dined at Olive Garden this evening. As we were driving up driving north on 1604 we noticed how many cars were in the parking lot and were really close to changing our minds but Chili's and Jim's were equally as packed so we proceeded to take the turn around and hope not to wait too long. We get in and there is no wait. They were offering free wine samples and the service was excellent! They had the fire place going and it was very cozy. Lots of space but divided up as to not look like a big cafeteria. Food was wonderful and as mentioned service was great. Gave the guy 30% because he was really good. Honestly folks the parking lot looked very full. Anyone else go?

we keep meaning to go, but that 1604/Culebra intersection after 5:00 PM is just too stupid. We'll probably go for lunch some day when all of us are off and the intersection is still sane.

I was told yesterday by a kid that works at the new Chick-Fil-A that they will be opening on Dec. 18th and people will be forming a line on or about 6PM on the 17th in order to be one of the first 100 there when they open at 6AM the following day. They will be the lucky winners of "free Chick-Fil-A for a year" which is sort of a misnomer since you actually get one free meal a week for a year. Still nice, but some people might think you can just go eat whenever you want for free, for a year, and that's just not true. Standing in line for 12 hours is somehow just not worth it to me--to save like $6 a week?

I asked him 3 times about the date, so he swears it's the 18th.

The wife and I tried out the new OG maybe 2 weeks ago. The food was on par with any other OG we have indulged at and they did have free wine tasting. Only problem I had was the waiter wasting water on me. It was an embarrassing moment for him, but no big deal on my end because it was just water. The manager was sent out to monitor the "CRISIS" and offered to have my clothes dry cleaned but I passed on the offer.

I hope that kid is wrong on the CFA opening day. The 18th is a Thursday and the 8th is a Monday. It makes more sense to open on a Monday, especially a store like CFA that doesn't open on Sunday. and screw waiting in a line for that sort of reward. I'd rather go there a few times a year and pay for a sandwish. I'd get burned out eating it once per week.

As far as the OG, it's good that the manager cared that much. My wife once complained about some meat because it was fatty and gristly and a manager claimed he couldn't see it.

If it is the 8th, man, that kid is going to be REALLY late for work!

Which is why he no longer works for me.

Well, one of the reasons.....you got an hour? Nice kid, but not a lot goin' on upstairs.......y'all will recognize him straight up--he didn't make it at Mama Margie's, either...........and no, I don't work at Mama Margie's. Not that there's anything wrong with that, though.

OK, I hope it hasn't been discussed before; but does anyone know what is going on north of Culebra and inside 1604? They have been leveling everything along the creek and it looks like another unnecessary strip mall is going in there...

Cheers! M2
