4:54am on the SeaWorld side of town with a steady, light rain going on...the good, soaking type of rain. Here is hoping for much more parcipitation today...since we need it so badly I think that everyone would happily resort to their back patio for the rain we so badly need.

Slept with the windows open last night...almost a repeat of yesterday morning how calm it is...with this humidity, NOT the best sleeping weather.

Everyone, find a way to make the BEST of this special day!!! Remember, no one can ruin your day if you don't let them...and we do need this rain badly, so if it decides to make it all day here in SA...enjoy and be glad in it!!!! Happy Easter everyone!!!

Heavy, heavy rain here in the DFW area. Much needed and I'm happy for it!

I hope that you San Antonions get the moisture that is much needed in that part of the state. I'm praying for you folks.

heavy, Heavy humidity here in SA right now. weather.com shows the dew point at 65 and it feels like it too. The ground is wet and there's drizzle, but the real rain is still to the west. Looks like we'll get the tail end of it unless something builds in behind it and fills in. It would be nice to get the kind of rain DFW has been getting since earlier last night.

Glad to hear about the heavy rain up north. We'll probably get brushed with 0.50-1.50" totals across South-Central Texas and Bexar County.

All the storms are below severe levels at the moment, but my greatest area of interest right now is in Uvalde County. Radar is estimating winds in excess of 50 MPH just above the surface; translating to roughly 30-40 mph gusts. Small hail may also be falling near Uvalde. However, it is intensifying and may be our next warned cell... and heading in our general direction.

I think this line will make it here after between 7:30 or 8, if not a little later.

what is it with Uvalde anyhow? They are like a tornado/severe storm magnet and you can see it flared up as soon as it hit them. Seems like a nice town when I drove through, but there is no way I would live there with its reputation for being hit by bad weather.

Val Verde also gets plenty of storms as well. These locations are close enough to the mountains in Mexico that they are influenced by the natural lift of the land (orographic lifting).

EDIT: Dang being awake all night, I had it right the first time "orographic"... but firefox spellchecker convinced me it was "orthographic," but that didn't make sense so I double-checked and it is orographic. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orographic_lift)

BTW, the storms are now under 2 hours away... and looking healthy.

Moderate rain making a very nice push southward into Northern Bexar County.
