The Storm Prediction Center (SPC -- I'm eventually going to go all acronym on y'all) in Norman, Oklahoma has once again issued a slight risk for our area tonight. We've got a dryline ahead of a cold front moving through our area. Most of the storms that do develop will develop along the dryline and will be capable of producing heavy rain, gusty winds, and a couple of these storms will be capable of dumping some hail (I think the best threat for hail would be further north).

The storms, if any, should make it here late tonight.

Anthony, do I detect a bit of pessimism in your weather posts of late?

That's good.
That's healthy.
Optimism is highly over rated.

Remember what a wise man once said, "A true optimist never knows the joy of a pleasant surprise."

Nah, I'm optimistic.. just not about our rain chances. The dynamics are just simply not strong enough to emphatically say we'll get nailed.

Now, if we're in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, I could say that with a high degree of confidence with this system.

Plus the SPC has placed us under several SLIGHT RISKs and one MODERATE this year, but we missed out on all of them.

I don't blame you on. I'm going with history on this one too and history is starting to get annoying.

I think I just need to bite the bullet and wash my car

I may be standing corrected:

Storm Prediction Center Mesoscale Discussion 653

We're being monitored by the SPC for the the potential of a Severe Thunderstorm Watch within the next couple of hours. Let's hope for some rain!

I don't want the hail or a tornado, but a really nice long rain would be welcome

Exclamation Chance of storms tonight! (4/17/08)

NWS say's that we have a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms tonight.

I looked at the Radar and there's a pretty good squall line (triggered by a dry line, it seems) just to the West and NorthWest of SA, and all the cells have the potential of being severe.

"Keep a weathered eye on the horizon" I say, we could be in for a bumpy (or at least windy) night tonight

It almost feels like I'm cheating on Anthony by reading this! Thanks for the weather tip, though.
