It's an ambient temp of 45 (113 F) degrees in my attic / radiant barrier at 48 (118 F). The southern-facing part of the roof... 87.5 (189.5 F) degrees!
The thermostat upstairs is in "saving" mode. Hope that doesn't mean the a/c is in trouble!

So from the other thread, if anybody's not sold on radiant barrier yet it's only a 70+ degree difference between the roof temp and the air inside the attic... I'll grab pics.

A record high temperature of 102 degrees was set at San Antonio today. This ties the old record of 102 set in 1994.

From KSAT on Twitter: Scorcher! CPS Energy says customers here set a record for electrical usage - 4,493 MW between 5p-6p.

I'm getting poisoned by my a/c. Can't leave the house without melting away. lol
So we aren't getting any daytime heating storms off the gulf because of the pesky high pressure that's still over us? How long until it starts to wear or move away?

The subtropical high usually doesn't weaken all that much (at least consistently) until September/October. Our hope is that it can shift elsewhere putting us on the Southern or Western periphery so we can open ourselves up to the Gulf. Some of the computer models tried moving the worst of the ridge further north early this morning for the weekend. The afternoon models killed that idea, meaning rain chances are gone and the heat continues.
