In Real County I just read a report of Pea-sized hail (.75" diameter) covering the ground. This will most likely be the most severe report we see in our region -- although our friends near Crystal City and areas around there could get some intense storms.

Tell that to us northwesterners... we've gotten loads of snow this year in the mountains. Way colder than normal, even a chance of a rain / snow mix tomorrow but it shouldn't stick. Seems like that'd be jet streams moving southward...

Lots of red on the radar I see. Looks like tomorrow will be a good day for the home inspector to come visit.

Just got a call from a spotter chasing in the town of Medina (Bandera County)... he's reporting pea size hail there. The line is moving southeast, so we'll be dealing with that here in Bexar County within an hour or so (wow my midnight timing wasn't half bad).

The severity of the storms isnt that extreme... the worst of it is south and west of here and will remain to our south.

The storms to our north seem to be collapsing as there's plenty of outflow and gust fronts in Blanco County -- that probably just means we have more instability to work with here.

UPDATE: The line is about to hit Medina Lake.

I have good news to report... with the exception of the cells to our WSW (Zavala, Uvalde, and Maverick Counties), the storms are weakening.

Radar is showing some gust fronts forming out ahead of the storms, which means that the downdrafts are greater than the updrafts -- or in layman terms, the storms are starting to collapse on themselves.

The storms are now inside extreme NW Bexar County heading southeast. Average rainfall amounts will be from .75-1.5" (finally something substantial!)

Expect brief gusty winds of around 40-50 mph at most, heavy downpours, plenty of lightning, and about 25 minutes worth of rain.

Temps also drop about 15 degrees as these storms move through... expect mid 50s behind the rain.

I'm not picking up much lightning with these storms right now yet either --- any of our west siders seeing anything?
