If you have an air conditioner... USE IT and NEVER LEAVE IT.
This will help in your transition from Seattle to San Antonio. Unfortunately, even as the temperatures look a tad bit lower on the 7-day forecasts, the humidity will counteract that producing relatively the same heat indices. Therefore, there will not be much difference in how hot it actually feels outside.
Another tip that worked for me is spend a summer in Laredo before moving to San Antonio... you'll never complain about the heat again!

Wonderful. I'm more worried about the part of the drive through the 4 corners region and down into New Mexico. I've driven that highway before and it's about the most desolate place I've experienced. A lot of stuff I'm going to be doing after the move sorta involves the outdoors... energy efficiency type stuff like installing a radiant barrier in the attic and throwing down more blown insulation. Of course I'll either do that in the morning or evening to try and cut down on the heat in the attic.
I also need to transfer some raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries into 20 gallon pots after the move because the soil PH is too different over there for them to survive. Then install a gutter in the back yard and rain collection barrel. To make this semi-weather related, I'm guessing I won't need to put a very big one down by the spout until after summer...

We were out at a park all day for a soccer tourney - it was HOT and HUMID. It didn't cool down until after 6:30. We had a break between games and came home to shower and change!
No rain in the forecast.
