I'll be traveling to San Antonio in 2 weeks. I haven't spent a lot of time there, so I am not familiar with the areas. I want to make sure that the area I'm staying in is safe without a high crime rate. Is the area off I-10 East on the East Side of San Antonio a safe area? It's the area where the streets Houston, Skeleton, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Way are. The hotel is right off the freeway. If the area is dangerous, please suggest a safe area. I do not want to stay in a bad area of town.

Thank you.

What is your budget?

That area is not great but it is not terrible.

I don't have any problem going out that way during the day, but at night I might think twice about it. What are you coming to town to do, so we can suggest a hotel near it, or are you just passing through on I-10? If you're just passing through, the hotels along I-10 west of downtown and west of 410 are a good bet. There's a Drury's Inn at 1604 and I-10 (near Fiesta TX) that's very nice.

I'm going to San Antonio for a vacation. I'm visiting from Tucson. I'm reading that the area is not great and is not safe at night. Where in San Antonio are the best areas to stay in safe during the day and night? Is all of East San Antonio bad? Is there a lot of crime in that area? Is it as bad as Greenspoint in Houston? I've stayed in Greenspoint and was scared as crazy, but it was my first time in Houston and didn't know the area. That is why I'm asking if that area is safe.

Anything on 410 from Broadway to Bandera rd. Anything on 10, anything on 281, anything on 1604 anywhere, anything on 151 outside of 410, or anything downtown. (Basically anywhere except where you picked)

OP, did you pick that hotel because the hotel rates were cheap? If so, they're cheap because there's not much to see or do in that general area. There may not even be a restaurant within walking distance.
