OK all you techno-smarties........I have a new little icon on the bottom right of my bar across the bottom....it's called Spyware Protect 2009 and it's sending pop-ups every 30 seconds or so and making me a crazy woman. I downloaded ms's defender which scanned and said everything's OK, but no way. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Sounds like you got a nice piece of malware on there. Malware can fool your AV or fw software.
