Good luck! I'm doing laundry and straightening up in between posts! I'm even doing a little yard work. It's nice and cool in here, though!

I have had a horrible day.

Was pulled over for going 38 in a 35.

Thank you Shavano Park.

Now who know's how much my points surcharge is going to be.

3 MPH over? If you don't fight that you're crazy.. and if you'd like a link to a great radar detector for only $35 just ask.. you can actually get it for $25 if you've never used Google checkout on Buy.com.. life is SO much better when you see them before they see you, trust me.. and 3 MPH over is BS, they won't even do that on base.

My son got one in Shavano Park, too, but at least it was 11 miles over. 3 over is just ticky-tacky crap. I totally stay out of there, Leon Valley (unless absolutely necessary), Windcrest for sure, and Castle Hills. They are a little ridiculous.

yadda yadda yadda, yes, we should do the speed limit, but this is for those of us that don't. We're human, so take the lectures to a regularly scheduled thread--not the OT!

Agreed! My daughter got one in Leon Valley not long ago for about 4 miles over. The cop actually apologized to her for having to give it to her. He basically agreed that it was ridiculous.

Isn't Balcones Heights really bad, too? Seems like it's all these little cities-within-the-ciy that need to raise revenue by ticketing like crazy.

Yes, and if they were ticketing because they were concerned about safety, I'd be all over it--but it's just their way of paying for their Dodge Avengers, so they can look all cool when they're pulling me over. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!

that's why I'm a proponent of radar detectors. they're also good for safety because they make this seriously annoying noise when an emergency vehicle is near you (like an ambulance), but only if they activate their signal. I don't know why they don't always do it though. They also let you know when people are going to slam on their brakes when they finally see the cop.

Cool story--this guy took one Polaroid picture a day for the last 18 years of his life--and now his friends have posted them online. I went and checked some dates that are significant to me, just to see what he was doing while I was graduating, giving birth, etc. Pretty cool. (maybe just to me?)
