There's always Jim's (some are open 24-hours, like at 410 & Broadway) or Mi Tierra downtown. I wish there were more interesting places, like the indie bookstore/cafe in DC's Dupont Circle area that's open 24 hours on the weekends, but it doesn't seem that there's enough market demand for places open past 2am.

Celeste, you're probably right. I would never move back to NY, but I do miss being able to see a movie at 2 or 3 if I couldn't sleep.

Happy cruising!

I think I just gained a half pound from reading that....

This Mi Tierra place is open 24 hours/day? I'm always looking for something different for the occasional eating out "lunch" at around 2:00 AM. I usually bring my own, but every now and then it's nice to go out. It usually ends up not being nice, though, because they tend to be out of what you want or the food isn't fresh at all..

BTW, I take it the late night people thread was merged into this? and are us night workers considered off topic? That's kinda strange and not exactly nice...

Yeah, I noticed that!

Mi Tierra is OK--it's a touristy restaurant in Market Square. There is always a crowd there, even late night, at least whenever I've gone. Anyway, it's nothing to write home about--much better Mexican food in SA, but at 2 am, it'll do.

And you night workers aren't off-topic, you're off-rocker! I don't know how you do it. I would hate that shift. I guess it pays the bills, though, right?

Click on My Settings (top left) and then Edit Profile. If you're able to, it will be the first thing under the optional section. You have to be a member for a certain amount of time and have a certain number of posts before you are worthy!!

I think you need 100 posts or something like that. There's a section in C-D that explains it but I don't remember where it is.

and most of us aren't night workers by choice, it's a rotating schedule thing. I initially volunteered because it's good for anti-social behavior problems and I get a 6% pay differential..
