So I guess I'm a bad parent, mamatotex. That's cool. I don't need anyone's approval. At least I didn't leave him at home alone while I went and watched it.

I don't think anyone accused anyone of being a bad parent and I'm sure your child was plenty old enough to handle the movie. I would personally have an issue with taking a 4 or 5 year old there because it was pretty dimented and dark, but sometimes you have no choice. There were quite a few kids in the theater with me, but I didn't hear one of them, so that was good. One kept running up and down the stairs for some reason, but he only did it about 8 times. Must've been drinkingthat same giant cup of Sprite I was drinking.. That thing was like a gallon jug almost

and the dog abuse was minimal and I was probably the only one that notices it; probably because I'm much more sensitive to things like that. I doubt a kid would really notice unless he was a serious dog lover and it definitely wasn't a dmx or michael vick type of abuse.

I was just letting you know. Other opinions on here have been negative towards the movie--so don't take my word and take your son.

I don't even remember any dog abuse. But I stand by my decision to take my son.

thanks for proving my point that most people wouldn't even notice it

I suppose abuse is too strong of a word, but I'm particularly sensitive to anything involving animals or kids. I didn't mind at all what they did to most of the adults, especially the magic trick. That was a helluva intro to him (main intro, not counting the original brief intro).

Whoa......letting me know what? How did we get to this point where you are accusing me of something I did not do/think or say??
I simply stated that my son would have a problem with a dog abuse scene. That's about my son, not about any other parent or child. My son is pretty sensitive when it comes to animals - gets teary eyed at the humane society commercials - that sort of thing so I merely made a comment.
Doesn't mean I won't take him. We will still see it but I can warn him ahead of time and so forth.

I didn't accuse you of anything.

I will say it again. I was letting you know. You asked if it was OK to take your 11 year old. I said yes. Others came on and mentioned that kids shouldn't have gone to see it. I stated that I must be a bad parent--LETTING YOU KNOW not to take my opinion. Again, I stand by my decision to take my son to see it. I'm not discussing it anymore. I apologize for using your name in my post. Won't happen again!
