The EEG yesterday showed no brain activity. This evening his kidneys are failing, and they will probably remove the life support tonight. We are hoping that my brother (Christian's grandpa) makes it there before that happens.

If you pray, please do--for Christina and TJ (Mom and Dad). If you don't, that's cool.......

It truly is the saddest thing that's happened in our family--I'm 43, so to say that means that we've been very blessed for a long, long time. We are so very lucky.

Anyway, love up on your babies tonight--I can't imagine the pain of losing one of mine.
OMGosh Sapphire! I am SOOOOO sorry. I've not been much of a prayin' woman lately, but I can only imagine your pain. Nothin' like a baby to make it all real. And yeah, love up on our babies (and not so "baby"). Nothin' is guaranteed. Sending love your way, sister.

So sad when it's the babies and I know everything has a purpose, but sometimes you wonder why.. It does help you realize everything is precious, though, and never take anything for granted.

Thanks, y'all. I'm fine--of course, I'm very sad, but the ones I'm worried about are young and have a very difficult time ahead of them. Something I wish no parent ever had to go through.

They'll baptize him this morning.......

I can't even put into words how offended I am at this headline - and the "study" explained within...

Single Parents Cost Taxpayers...

A few facts about me...
I am single and I do have a child.
There is no amount of government propoganda that would have prevented my divorce.
And I am not on welfare or medicaid, nor do me or my child have a drug or crime problem.
Yet, I am lumped into this stupid report that says if I'd stayed married, the economy would be better off???????

Didn't I recently read an article, or see a news report, about a man that divorced his ailing wife so that she COULD be eligible for welfare/medicaid to help with medical bills for something not covered by insurance? And how many folks using welfare choose NOT to get married so that they CAN get benefits?
I'm thinking the problem is with the welfare system itself - NOT THE FOLKS USING IT! (Or at least not some of the folks using it.)

There is so much more rattling around in my head that screams "WTH" about this article, but I am truly at a loss for words. I am counting on the rational CD folks to help me work this out.

His mom and dad are devastated, of course. Just updating the ones who posted.....and thanks for caring!
