Nice! I do endoscopies every three years cuz I got Barrett's, a pre-cancerous condition of the esophagus. No more pizza for me!

Wow, I don't recall being awake for the endoscopy but certainly woke up during a colon thingy. Thought they were shoving a broom handle through my stomach!! Like the Alien trying to escape!! I've had trouble with the valve doohickey where your esophagus enters the stomach. Used to get indigestion all the time. But since Divert. surgery not so much but eat like a baby now!! Weird!!

Ouch.

I wasn't "awake" per se, but they call it conscious sedation. I call it really, really stoned. I was out of it for about 25 minutes total. It takes longer to prep you for the procedure than it does for the actual procedure itself.

TexasNick.........I hope you stay healthy! I just need to make a few lifestyle changes, which I already knew, but it's always easier said than done!

No pizza?

From what I've heard, the day before is worse than the day of. My boss said you should be actually sitting on the toilet when you drink your concoction, since they don't take into consideration that some people need to get to the RR, unbuckle/unzip, and sit down at breakneck speed before the fun begins. You'll do fine, pawpaw.

Oh!! Yes wait until you have to drink a 2 gallon jug of seawater!!! The only reason my first one was painful was because of the condition I had at the time!

Sorry , didn't mean to scare you!! And Yes, keep after it Nick! I should be going again myself!!

why would you drink something for that? I thought that was only for an upper GI? I've done that twice.

No worries

I've had some heartburn problems since I was like 5 years old...never did anything about it until I was 14...had some minor surgery for that and then it came back in full force last year. I finally went in to a GI doc and scoped me and saw a really small pre-cancerous tissue as a result of the acid burning the same area for years and years. I could care less about that...what really ticked me off was I had to lay off the coffee a bit...and can't eat anything at night...I hate going to bed hungry!
