Haggling at a retail establishment worked for us today. We were at the Barbeques Galore today, and there was an "as is" charcoal grill marked down from $699 to $599. We were looking at it, and the assistant manager came outside. My husband asked what was wrong with it--it was used once and returned--and we were told the guy just didn't like it. So my husband, who never does this, says "Can you come down any more on it--say $549?" The guy said, "I can do $449, if y'all want it." Sold.

With all of you as my witness, I will never agree to another BBQ pit purchase EVER. I am so tired of hearing him gripe about his little $60 HEB oil can thing, and I made him pinky-promise that I'd never have to hear another peep out of him.

Everything he ever made on the $60 one tasted heavenly to me. The only time he ever cooks is when he's outside--good thing--I swear the man doesn't know where the kitchen is in our house.

We bought some of their pecan rub, too, so we're having beef ribs tomorrow afternoon, and I'm happy....

I have--just drain the ground turkey really well--a lot of times there is more fat in the ground turkey than in the ground beef. Once it is all mixed in, you can't tell much difference in the taste.
