Right now we live in Vegas and hate the fact that it's dry, dirty, and desert. My husband has the opportunity to apply for a job in SA, but we don't want the same topography we have now.
What we're looking for is green, fishing areas, and country living on some acreage for chickens and maybe some goats. My dh is willing to commute a little bit.

Thanks,
Jeanette

No..not "deserty"..but not very green either. Much more humidity than Vegas. Lack of rain has dried things up..been in water restrictions for years now. Acreage and livestock/animals will most likely have to be outside the city...we'll need to know where you'll be working in order to make any recommendations. SA is very spread out.

I would call SA a "Happy Medium" between Vegas and Houston.

No, not a desert at all.

Default semi-arid,

We get , usually 15-20 inches of rain annually. There is a drought on now. Summer months are
usually hot and dry, but not as bad as Vegas.

You can find homes on acreage just a bit south of S.A. around the Adkins Tx. area

I would say it quickly becomes much more desert like south of SA than other directions.

If you think of Las Vegas as one end of the extreme and Arkansas as the other (everything is green there), then San Antonio is somewhere in the middle.

You might want to look north of San Antonio in the Hill Country area if you want some acreage.
