hi all,

i'm looking for a "sweet bread", "pan dulce" place, preferably on the northside/central, but it's OK if elsewhere. thank you.

Hmmm...the whole time I lived on the northeast side, I don't think I ever saw one! It could be because I only picked up pan dulce on my way to my parents' house. I usually stopped off at La Superior on Division and Pleasanton Road or San Antonio Bakery on Palo Alto Road.

I know Mi Tierra has good pan dulce, too.

SAtoDallas is on a distinguished road
Not sure about any place on the northside/north central, but Mario's on the Westside Castroville Rd and SW 36th St is awesome! We live in Stone Oak but the drive is well worth it. Also La Suprema has delicious flour tortillas that's SW 36th and Old HWY 90. Trust me these places are worth the drive.

Anyone have an update on the purported second Mi Tierra restaurant at 1604 & Huebner? This should fill a much needed pan dulce void in Stone Oak and the surrounding areas.

No, there is only one Azteca Market, for now at least. but, in my area, my dad goes to.....I'm gonna spell it wrong, so I'm going to write it like it sounds, "la meechuacana" its a small market with a bakery. its on Fredericksberg Rd, right next to China Harbor Restaurant. in the shopping center that has that flea market in the back.
