Unfortunately many adults don't do this with their kids. Nothing irritates me more. Driving home the other night on 1604 a mom in her mini suv/toyota had her 2 or 3 yr old gal in the back. The girl was jumping up and down, and even at one point hanging out the window! Mind you this girl should be in a car seat not to mention buckeled up. I hate it when parents do this!!!

Seat belts do save lives. Unfortunately, my older sister was wearing one, but was killed by a teenager high on drugs who ran a stop sign at 60MPH and rammed her door. Luckily, her two kids were also wearing seat belts and not hurt seriously (some cuts and bruises), despite the car being thrown 80 feet in the direction the speeding car was heading. The driver and his passenger were ejected (not wearing seat belts). The passenger died but he survived and all he got was a 1-year driving suspension (for killing 2 people) as they could not prove he was the driver. This was 26 years ago before side impact collisions were taken seriously and now cars have better protection. Seat belts definitely saved my niece and nephew's life.

I'm sorry to hear about your sister Steel Man. That was a pathetic sentence they handed him for what he did.
