Oak Ridge Christian Learning Center (Castle Hills: daycare, attorney, school)

Tuesday my husband was picking up our son from daycare (Oak Ridge Christian Learning Center) and was informed that they might be closing soon. He was told that the director was at court and they wouldn't know anything for sure until she was done. He inquired about our tution we had already paid for the month of April and was told that they would do everything they could to make sure we would be refunded the difference once they closed. We assumed (which was stupid on our part) that we would have at least until the end of the week. WRONG!

The next morning I went to drop off our son and they were closed with a note posted on the door. The letter said that they were closed due to lincensing problems and they had an attorney involved to try to get them reopened.

I drove over to there today on my lunch to see if maybe someone would be there so we could get our belongings and find out when we could get our refund. Well guess what? The place was EMPTY, a few things left here and there, but pretty much empty!

I left a message on the voicemail demanding a call back ASAP, but don't expect it to happen or even be checked.

I would call one of the news stations and tell them your story. Sounds like something one of them might be interested, and maybe they can investigate more than you would be able to.

The reason why they closed is because the director wasn't properly qualified. My friend's son was an infant and he was rushed to the hospital because he ate glass off the floor -in the infant room-from it not being properly picked up. Apparently there was a big mess going on there with the management. Sad stuff.

Hi, I was as shocked as you! I had JUST gotten a job there about 2 weeks prior, then showed up for work and all was closed down. I had not heard of any problems. I sure wasnt happy with the care or management (go figure)and was going in that same day to put my 2 weeks in. Im still looking for my check

My child was also attending this school and we found out the same way you did. I've left 5 messages for someone to call back regarding refunding paid tuition and the return of my son's personal effect (diapers/toys/blankets/clothing/bottles) but have had no response. I am just so thankful that nothing happened to my son while in their care as he was still in the infants room.

OMG my daughter went there many years ago back when it was at the church across the street. It was wonderful back then! Then when they moved to that shopping center, all things started going down hill and I moved my daughter to Castle Hills 1st Baptist PreSchool. I loved it there - great move if anyone needs a place!
