Sorry if this post is redundant, but I haven't found much info specific to single females in their 30s moving to the SATX area.

I'm a 38 yr old female with no kids moving from Houston to SATX to start my job at Lackland AFB in January 2019. Since I'm coming from Houston, I'm used to the big city atmosphere but don't want a bad commute to work. Anything more than 30 minutes in traffic, to and from work, is what I consider a bad commute. I prefer living near places/things (restaurants, nightlife, live music venues, farmer's markets, festivals, parks) within walking/biking distance from my home. I've been browsing rentals in the Southtown, Lonestar, King Williams, Denver Heights neighborhoods but am not seeing much availability. What other areas/neighborhoods would y'all recommend living in? Thanks for any/all advice in advance!

Cue the Alamo Ranch supporters in 3...2....1......

But seriously, if I were you, I would visit SA for a few days to actually witness first-hand traffic to determine which area you would like to live. With the on-going construction on both our major loops (410 & 1604), traffic fluctuates depending on the time of day. My commute is sometimes over an hour, but I CHOOSE to live on the outskirts of the city.

Yep. It’s an option for lackland folks. I’d look at the urban cor, too. She didn’t say what her budget was. It can be tough to get down in that area, in s newer place, for under $1000. FWIW, if I were moving back to SA as a single 34 that I am, id start looking at the Mosaic on Grayson.
