Those things aren't even supposed to be on the riverwalk! There aren't enough officers or regulators to stop people from being reckless on these E-Scooters. No legal consequences except for people getting hurt.
I just stayed overnight at a downtown hotel and saw TOO MANY of these things littering pedestrian sidewalks. There was one directly in my path that I threw into some bushes. If everyone started throwing them in water, in the sewer or in trash dumpsters, maybe these companies might get a hint?

Other cities have started to find the scooter companies if they are found in the right of way. They block ADA access for people who need it. I don’t understabdcwhyvtherecarecSO many. I drove past the same six scooters five times over the time I was in SA.

Echoing some of the points already made, there are too many of them. They look trashy downtown just propped up (or, in some cases, laying around) everywhere. The riders are a nuisance. They fly down side walks nearly mowing over pedestrians.

With San Antonio's past willingness to regulate everything to death, I am surprised this wasn't vetted by the city before these companies were allowed to dump the scooters all over.

Like rideshare before them, the scooter share business model model is to not ask permission when entering a market in the hopes that citizen demand will protect them from being removed from the market later.

Personally, I have nothing against them...as long as the riders obey the rules and the company is held responsible for any problem their property causes.

How about using Tip 411 (https://www.sanantonio.gov/SAPD/Helping-The-Police) with a photo of the scooter and/or rider that you find violating the rules. Even better, if you find a scooter blocking sidewalks or on your personal property - make sure to get a pic the barcode of that scooter (they all have them, it's how you check them in/out) and send it along.

Everyone complains that there are not enough police, how about civic duty? I'd rather have the community working to self-police than police officers everywhere.

One thing is for Sure!!!! San Antonio regulators are HORRIBLE NEGOTIATORS. They are giving away the rights for these companies to be here with just a $20 annual charge when Corpus Christi just negotiated a $365 annual charge (although the companies may not stay for that price). San Antonio could have yielded much more in fees from these companies. Why only $20?!!!!

You made your argument pointless when you pointed out a city with a higher price that might not even have the scooters due to their fee.

Please point to a city that has higher fees and scooters are not being possibly pulled. I’m sure there are but I don’t care to spend anymore time than writing this post.

It's great to see scooters blocking the wheel chair access ramps on sidewalks around me. Way to go!

Who got the cash in the bag from the company?
