Question Moving To Boerne

Would love some suggestions on hair salons, vets, dentists, pediatricians. Any information on the town would be greatly appreciated. We have been there a few times, but didn't really have a chance to explore.

Thanks

Thanks!

I was hoping to get some personal experiences. I saw a few businesses on the Chamber of Commerce web that looked interesting. A few of the restaurants we have been to and enjoyed.

There are two good salons and not too pricey, either. Headlines near the high school and Wavelengths (right off Main St.) They both do a great job-I just switched to Headlines but liked Wavelengths, too. Our pediatrician is at the medical center-Dr. Ostrower. I am seeing Dr. Shannon Livingston-love her! My husband is seeing Dr. Victor Vela (they are associates) They are located right on Main Street in the little strip mall with the "minor emergency clinic"-that name cracks me up! The minor emergency clinic has been awwesome! The doctors are really friendly and thorough. I appreciate more each day how small of a town Boerne really is! Welcome!

Thank you so much for the information. Websites are great, but it's always good to hear pros and cons from people.

Thanks for the information. I had assumed we'd have to go into SA for most things, but it's great to know know that Boerne has good facilities. Most businesses' websites look great. Again, reading people's opinions, albeit on a website, is very helpful.

The new Menger Springs emergency room hospital just opened up last month in Boerne, right off I10. No other hospitals-yet. I would say you can shop for many things in Boerne-HEB and Super Walmart for groceries. There is also a meat/fish market on Main St. I haven't tried yet. Lots of little restaurants. The shops are full of unique goodies and there is a Bealls for clothing. There is a place called " the African Violet Shop" that many of my coworkers have told me about for fertilizer for miraculous vegetables, flowers and grass. Haven't tried it yet but it's on my list! The Rim and La Cantera are about 10 miles down I10 so you don't have to drive very far for whatever you need. There was recently an agreement passed with the developers of Esperanza which will double the size of Boerne, so I'm sure more shopping is on the way!

Oh, there's also a Home Depot and a funky little Sears store. (ok, I need to go into that store) Sears is up on a hill and I can't see what they have in there. Lots and lots of choices for churches-lots of christians of every flavor in Boerne. There is a Dollar Tree, YMCA (no pool), Starbucks, Sonic, Wendy's, Burger King, and Whataburger. Lots of little league baseball-drive up I10 to the baseball mecca-we're having lots of fun there! Up until now, Boerne High School has been at the heart of all things Boerne but that is about to change with Champion opening this fall and all of the kiddos from both schools attending Champion. I think that's it!
