Default San Austin Metro

I can see it happening soon.

All the land between San Antonio and Austin is being filled in by homes and shopping centers.

Before you know it, it will be the San Austin Metroplex just like Dallas/FtW is.

Good to see growth and development!

I predicted this 5 years ago!

Go to Buda and Kyle and you see so much for development. Those two towns were not even specs on the map 7 years ago.

Are you kidding me, you should go to LA and the OC to see a real metro.

San Antonio and Austin will take another 20-30yrs to be a real SA-Austin metro.

I agree with montevista1...we have many, many years for the metroplex thing to happen between SA and Austin. Like 20 years...at the very least (if it ever even happens, as Austin seems to be growing primarily North, and SA moving away from Austin for the most part, to Boerne, Kerrville, etc.)

I also agree...the San Antonio-Austin metro won't happen anytime soon in my honest opinion. It's 30 miles or so between Dallas and Ft Worth and it took a long time for the cities to finally grow together and have non stop development the entire way. The distance between San Antonio and Austin is more than double that so I don't think non stop development and the chance of having one huge metro is going to happen even within 20 years. I'd say it will take much longer and even then it might not ever happen b/c the two cities are two different media markets as well. Each has their own television and radio markets unlike Dallas and Ft Worth which share television and radio stations b/c they are so close.

I don't think the San Antonio-Austin metro would look like the DFW Metroplex in 20 years. I think in 20 years, San Antonio-Austin would still have some gaps here and there and would only be a miles of cookie cutter homes and Walmarts.
