I am looking for the tail lamp wiring & socket to a 1995 Toyota 4runner. Does anyone know where I can find a good salvage yard on the northeast side or if any exist? I don't want to go all the way to the south side for a cheap part unless I absolutely have to. None of the retail stores sell this part and I do not want to pay over a hundred fifty dollars at the dealership for the whole dang tail lamp assembly. Thanks.

Most of the automotive salvage yards I have seen have been on the southside of town. Here's a list of a few.

Cheers! M2

I imagine NIMBYism is what keeps salvage yards from being located on the North Side. While I agree it's a hassle to drive to the south side for a deal on a used part, it's hard to blame people in any part of town for not wanting a salvage yard in their neighborhood.

I've been to Pick 'n' Pull a couple of times. It's probably the most organized salvage yard I've ever seen. I took my 16 year-old along on my last visit and he thought it was cool.

Just called them and they didn't have my part. They told me my best bet was Pick N Pull on the southside. Go figure.

Default Update

Well I finally went down to Pick 'n Pull and found the part I needed within 5 minutes. Instead of just buying the wire & socket, I went ahead and bought the whole tail lamp assembly for $30. (vs. $155 new) That place was awesome and I think I found me a new hobby now.
