Java developer, 6 months contract to hire through teksystems;
Just wondering how on par this is in terms of actually getting hired full time?

What factors does it depend on?

Hourly is at $40 ph, will this DROP if or when hired full time with USAA?

You may want to search Glassdoor for those types of questions.

I can expect it to drop some because the employee benefits will come into play once you get hired from being contract employee which doesn't get any benefits.

Best thing to do is just ask them.

mixed reviews about working for USAA, thought i'd ask here in case anyone has gone through a similar situation of working for them as a contractor then getting hired on full time.

I have never worked as a contractor. I was hired almost 15 years ago and I can say I love it. I have worked in a lot of different areas (IT, Testing, Wealth Mgmt, HR, etc). Being a reporting type person you have flexibility. I have not been a member MSR so I have always worked behind the scenes. My salary has always been competitive and the benefits are great. My two cents.
