I've heard that's there's more technical riding at Flat Rock Ranch in Comfort. Also, try posting your question here:

That reminds me - about 15 years ago, I met some people that took me on a dirt bike ride in Leon Creek. We started in the vicinity of Clark high school and rode in the creek all the way to Bandera road. I don't know if it's still doable, but it might be a nice mountain bike ride. The neat thing about that ride is that at Leon Creek/Bandera road, there is a Sonic there. A great place to have an ice cream treat before heading back

Mud Creek has some bike trails in the back half - they aren't marked but it's something to do after work.
We also rode Madrone Trail at Canyon Lake Park - great riding - some technical spots - good rock ledges.
We're always up for more riders if anyone is interested - drop a line.

MadMax,
I'm not a hardcore mountain biker but read your post and wanted to share a tidbit of info with you. Wife and I went out hiking today at Reimers Ranch (Travis County Park) and they boast 18 miles of mountain biking trails. They have numerous trails of varying challenge. Really nice place. I was surprised overall how few people were there on a Saturday. In addition to biking, there are some awesome rock-climbing opportunities, hiking, and fishing.

THREAD REVIVAL!
Well, I haven't been riding much over the past year; but I really feel the desire to get back on the bike again soon. As such, I was hoping that by bringing this thread back up again, more people might be interested.
I'll have to take it easy at first, maybe the front country at Govt Canyon or the upper part of OP Schnabel until I get back in shape. Also, with the summer heat (tomorrow promises to hit triple digits), evening rides are probably necessary.
So if anyone is interested, post up!
Oh, and I think I posted this earlier but just to reiterate, a good local forum is BiKe Mojo's Pure RasPa!
Cheers! M2

We've been hitting Madrone trail (N. side of Canyon Lake) in the early morning/evening the last few weeks. My favorite SA trail - by far - and there's hardly anyone ever there

I have three bikes and try to ride about 70miles a week off road.
My Scalpel beside the Missouri River last month.
My Rize 1 Carbon at a trail head in Columbia Missouri last month.
My 29er single speed in OP here in San Antonio
My favorite local place to ride is Salado. I publish all my GPS data here.

Nice bikes, 2D - I ride a Carbon Rush about 70 miles every couple MONTHS, unfortunately!
What GPS system do you recommend?

I'm a Cannondale nut as you can probably tell.
