Still breathing sounds particularly dreamy, and I will see as many of these movies as I can. I have that Blockbuster that mails membership so I should be able to get plenty!

I wish I could visit first, but can't, so this is of great help.

googie that was some list. How do you go about searching for such a list?

Thank you,
Linda
Linda, it looks as though googie did a direct cut/paste job from the San Antonio Film Commission web site. To see the full list of films and television shows filmed in SA visit the filming history page:

San Antonio Travel Guide - San Antonio, Texas Events, Attractions, Packages & More

In my opinion the following films, although not all good ones, showcase sites in the city pretty well:

All the Pretty Horses
The Newton Boys
Miss Congeniality
Selena
Blank Check
Cloak and Dagger
The Getaway
Viva Max

Among the TV shows:

Heaven Help Us - short lived syndicated Spelling Production show shot entirely on location in San Antonio - about a newly wed couple that, on the way to a honeymoon, that dies crashing into the RiverCenter Marriott. There they end up in pergatory (on the 13th Floor) where they have to go out and do good deeds in order to be granted entry into Heaven. Starring John Schneider and Ricardo Montalban

J J Starbuck - another short lived series that aired on NBC. Story of a wealthy Texas oil man that travels the country solving crimes in attonement for his focus on business rather than personal relationships. The show was a spin-off of Tenspeed and Brownshoe and starred Dale Robertson.

Knight Rider 2000 - made for TV movie (1991) reprising the Knight Rider TV series in the near future, the year 2000. It is interesting to see San Antonio filmed as a 'city of the future.' An interesting bit of trivia, in one scene a character is carrying a Joske's shopping bag, but the store had closed in 1987. Stars David Hasselhoff.

My Two Loves - a groundbreaking made for TV movie about a widow, who a year after losing her husband, is starting a new life, is wooed by her husband's best friend and confides this to a female co-worker. The two women end up forming a romantic relationship. Stars Mariette Hartley and Lynn Redgrave.

Perry Como Christmas in San Antonio - a holiday special that beautifully showcases the city's historic sites and riverwalk. Stars Perry Como, George Strait and Angie Dickinson.

Can't believe anyone hasn't metioned Nadine. Jeff Bridges and Kim Basinger stared in this one which had some scenes shot around the King William area. It was filmed around 85-86. Kim Basinger had her make up trailer right in front of our apartment so I got to know her for a little while. Cool film

"Rolling Thunder" shot at the old I & GN depot, NOT Sunset Station. The building is now Generations Credit Union.

"Still Breathing" house is on Argyle, in Alamo Heights.

Anyone notice that major studio film production in the area has come to a standstill the last 2-3 years? Anyone know of any big films coming down to SA on the horizon?

I just found out that Wings (1927) was filmed at Camp Bullis. It was the first film to receive an academy award.
