So my cars breaks have been squeaking when I push on them, and now its grinding. I have a 14 Chevy Cruze, but I did not purchase it around here and it does not have a warranty still. Are there any reliable, rather inexpensive mechanics around near Lackland or close to Leon Valley? Thanks!

Brakes squeaking is your pads telling you they are getting low. Grinding is you not taking care of your pads and now the metal from the bracket that is leftover from all of your brake pad wearing away, is grinding through your rotors. You are at a critically unsafe point with your brakes. If you need to slam on your brakes, you won't have any pads to push against your rotors. KEEP YOUR DISTANCE until you get this fixed. If you would have done it when your brakes were squeaking you could have just had your rotors turned. You will need new brake pads, new rotors, and if its been that long new fluid too. Without looking up your parts, I would expect your vehicle to be on the lower end (smaller brakes), and my guess would be $350-$500. This is not a difficult job, or a difficult vehicle. Any brake shop should be able to do your vehicle just fine.

Look up Gato on Hunt Ln and Marbach. Kinda place that allows you to bring your own parts. Only 2 English speakers but very cheap. (or at least used to be)

None of that, "Oh you need to fix this too!".
