hello all --- dh and i are thinking of hiring our own independant inspector for our new home that we are going to have built ---

all our color selects were turned in to the construction manager today so we have apx 6 weeks before the slab will be poured ---

if we hire an inspector apx how many visits to the new home site are done??? from other posts i was reading it looks like it's wise to get a pre-slab inspection but how many after that...i am thinking after slab, prior to sheet rock and final??? --- but i really have no idea...

also, what would we be looking at as far as price wise ---

any advice would be very helpful --- thanks in advance!!!

Hi,
Having my house built as well. My inspector will be going out for the first time Thursday. I'm told most will go before slab, before sheet rock and final. I think were paying like 250 or 300 and according to my co-worker he paid 250 for his final with a different inspector, so that sounds like the ball park price.

If your interested in who were going with PM as I don't think were allowed to advertise on the forum.

I am having a 3,201 square foot home built and have had it inspected prior to sheet rock (I missed the pre slab inspection...but I would recommend this). My inspector did a fabulous job and charged me $185.00. PM me and I will forward his contact information.
