You know it...we have bought so much from there...the sheets are DEVINE (we like the 1000 count at such great prices) and that is EXACTLY what I will be using my credit towards (but alas, not for me...as a wedding gift for a co-worker). Heck, before OVERSTOCK I did not even know there WERE 1000 count sheets!

Neither did I! Of course, now I'm spoiled and can't sleep on anything with less than 600 because it feels like sandpaper! *lol*

I think that was a surprize for a lot of people. I have never heard of a forum giving out prizes. Congrats to all! Is it a random drawing?

FYI...

1000 ct thread sheets are an impossibility: Usually what sheet makers do is double the thread over itself and use that as the count. While false, it's more like sleeping on 5-700 thread count, but not truly the 1000ct they're selling.

I found this out when I bought my last set of Frette sheets. An insane thread count (or so they said... 3000 ct) and a price-tag to go with it. $1700.

Knowledge is power. It's also sometimes depressing

Woooooooo bubba! $1,700 for SHEETS???!!?!?!?

OK, maybe they are not REALLY 1000 count sheets....but I pay about $100 for a set that is WONDERFUL and lasts a LONG time...so Overstock can call them whatever they want, but I call them WONDERFUL!! (and apparently at a GREAT price)!!!!

Because of the continued increase in both membership and viewership City Data has enjoyed, it decided to reward those -- the forum members -- for making it the success it is (currently over 3.9 million up from 2.9 mil just since last Oct) by giving gift cards -- and has done this giveaway monthly since December of last year. You can view each month's list of winners from the link posted in my first post above. How great is that, to be given a gift just for posting in a forum!?!

The server counts how many times each page is opened. The post "read x,xxx times" means that all the posts together were viewed this many times on people's monitors and the thread "views x,xxx times" means that this specific thread was viewed x,xxx times on people's monitors. Also, within each of your profiles (access my clicking on your screen name), you can view your own post and thread counts.

And, as stated by the Administrator (also in the link above), the more active you are as a poster, the more likely you'll be chosen in the months to come. The process of how this is done is kept Top Secret and remains completely unknown even to the Moderators!

So, post away and good luck to each of you!!!
