Bandera is incredibly slow northbound from 410 most all afternoons. I tried it (once). A half hour for a few miles.

NW Military is 45 mph through Shavano Park.
NW Military is 45 until you enter Castle Hills.

Its been like that forever, there is a speed limit sign.

Read it. If you choose to not read it and disobey, thats kinda on you. If you choose to not see it, and get busted, thats kinda on you, pay attention to the road.

Shouldn't need a flashing light to remind you to pay attention to the signs of the road.

This only causes me to speed up through the intersection. Taking Babcock from 410 to Prue Rd makes more sense for me now.
I will also avoid those other speed trap towns as well.
Red Light cameras I believe are not legally enforceable now if I recall the recent legislation that was passed.

One correction:

NW Military is 45 from 1604 to just south of Alon HEB shopping center where the speed limit sign changes to 35 MPH. Castle Hills city limits start once you cross over the intersection of NW Military and Lockhill Selma.

Yes, beat me to it. NW Military is COSA from Huebner to Lockhill-Selma.

Speed limit there make perfect sense and is consistent with similar conditions throughout town. North of Alon NWM opens up into a suburban highway. South of the Alon Market NW Military turns into a city street with continuous shopping centers and business parks on each side until you reach Loop 410. You have a lot of traffic pulling in/out of shopping centers and half the time crossing 3 lanes of traffic to get there. A very dangerous situation and there are already plenty of accidents. Old San Pedro is similar between NSM and 281 and it has a 35 MPH speed limit. Blanco south of Wurzbach has a 40 MPH speed limit for similar reasons.

We do get a lot of these threads.

1) Someone speeds and gets a ticket
2) That person comes here to vent about it.
3) OP gets bombarded with "don't speed" replies, stating the obvious. We all know this rule.

The big question is how many of these people are of the "Do as I say, not as I do" type?

I used to average 50-60k miles/year, and averaged one citation every 3 years until I started paying more attention. I semi-retired back in 2016, and my last citation was in 2008. Have there been times when I should have been cited for speeding (or another infraction)? You bet - but the difference is, I wouldn't come on here to complain about it, even if it was a REAL speed trap. Might come on and warn others, but in my view, most of us don't get nearly all the tickets we technically should (thankfully), so when I do get one, I just chalk it up to the odds finally catching up with me.

I would feel for you if you were stopped by those unmarked police cars that I still can't believe are legal in SA in 2019.
People talk about California being a "nanny state" but when Texas allows unmarked police cars to pull any citizen over, it makes me question which state is really the police state. I am very uneasy about pulling over for just any car with strobes and when I am in San Antonio I do have this feeling that the police are out to stop anyone over for any little thing.

Those unmarked cars have got to go...but I am with others on this one, just pay attention to the posted speed limit.
