We're moving to SA in July and my son will be attending one of these high schools, has anyone heard anything about either of these schools? Any information would be helpful. I have another son in middle school but I don't know the name of the middle schools in the area.

I do not know much about the schooling there. But I do know that the sports are awesome there! I know a lot of coaches there and they have been there for years. I have a lady I worked for and her daughter goes to the elementary schools there within Judson ISD. She loves it. Sorry I don't have more info!

Default Judson or Wagner

I graduated from Judson in 1990. That was the year it started going down hill. Judson has a great football team still to this day. I would NEVER allow my children to go there. Everyone who knows San Antonio well knows to stay away from that area. It has become one of the areas of previous topics about gangs and section 8. I would head out away from San Antonio. I have 4 boys ages 15 to 2 and education is extremely important in my view.

I agree with csi16moore. While Judson has a great football team, the academic side is horrible and they have high gang activity.

I also went to Judson for 2 years before switching to a private school. I wouldn't put my child there.

I have a relative with kids over in that area, and Judson is a really rough school.

I graduated from Judson in 1990, too. Boy, those kids in my AP/IB classes were ROUGH! I still know people who teach in the Judson district as well as people who have kids at Judson. None of them have any qualms about having kids at Judson, nor do they agree that there is gang activity at the school. Some wannabes, yes, but actual gangs - no.

buffy is right.
There are no gangs there, only "gangs".
I graduated in '05 and can tell you, there are many wonderful teachers and programs there.
The school might have gone through a rough patch in the 90's but it is not like that any more.
Don't believe what others here are telling you.
As long as your kid hangs with the right crowd, there will be no problems.
It is the same at ANY school. There are the good and the bad and everything in between.
