I saw that earlier and was hoping some people would. The Winnie the Pooh was cute, but I'm sure there are much more impressive ones here in SA..

I have three but I got them in Austin before I moved here. I'm thinking of getting something with the kids' names or signs or something. What about the artists at Mind's Eye Tattoo? Anyone ever go there?

I've never been there. One of my favorite artists moved to Austin and I can't find him..

I'd recommend Mr. Lucky's on St. Mary's. He has a wait list but oddly enough has open walk-ins on Thursday's. Ask for Weldon. He has an apprentice but I would rather go to Weldon. Same price either way.

Have you seen the work by this woman?? Amazing. She was at Dandyland.. apparently now she's moved to another place in town.

I am sad right now... I just got my fifth tattoo started but then I got laid off so I can't get it colored in for a while... so I only have the outline.

feel free to post pictures of them if you can fierce and I feel your pain. I was all set to get my third which is the one I've been wanting for quite a while, but finances aren't working in my favor right now..

Doesn't it just SUCK when we're older and have "obligations" so we can't get the tat's we want?!!!!! Mine is over 16 years old and I want it re-done (cover up ~ not because I don't like WHAT was done so much as the QUALITY of it). Along with a whole lot more! Darned kids, keeping me from getting more ink with all their "necessities"!! (like food, shelter, clothes......)

OH!! fierce ~ page back in this thread a ways. My daughter had work done by Laraine! She's an amazing color artist!! Daughter has an appointment next Friday with a different artist (Justin @ Calaveras). He did her "pirate skull" on her hip and is gonna be doing a seahorse on the inside of her arm.

I knew that name sounded familiar and that back piece is definitely very nice looking.
Cover ups are a pain because the choices become much more slim. I brought my artist about 15 different things I liked and he narrowed it down to about three.. The one I went with (the one with the eye) looks great though and pretty much only I can see the little tiny bits that were left from the original. The usual response I get when I say it's a cover up is "really?". Very good artist and hopefully I can find a way to visit him this weekend and add more to the thread..
speaking of that.. I think there were still some people that said they would post pictures... still waiting..

I know whatcha mean about coverups! Mine is so old, tho, and extremely faded. When I had it done, color was just starting to get big. And the red that is in mine is nearly gone. So it shouldn't be too hard to cover up.

Mine is of 2 "cherubs" around a cross with a heart in the middle that Otherhalf designed. The cherubs were supposed to represent my 2 oldest daughters, who were very little girls at the time. But the guy that did the tat mostly worked free-hand (no outline or anything). They turned out looking much more like harlots than cherubs!!! (They have more cleavage than I've EVER had!!! And I've had 7 kids!! LOL!!) So now it's on to peacock feathers!

Cleavage? What? LOL

I am going to get inked again here...after summer...I got two about a year ago and of course I am hooked. So far, only my right leg has been inked...ooo...I should put pix in my photo album on here...I am thinking something on my arms. I have several in mind which revolve around tributes. So far I have my first which is the cover art to Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon and the other is a tribute to Star Wars.

Nice! (well, at least the Pink Floyd stuff! )

I want sleeves. Daughter is working on hers. We both think that the "planned out" type of sleeves is trite. Just a mish mash of whatever strikes your fancy is better. HOWEVER! I want a henna style design that looks like lace with fringe ~ as sleeves. That would be nice. Back work first, tho.
