The pain reminds me of when my cat claws me, and after the work is done, like a sunburn.

I have one on my lower back, one on my upper back (right shoulder blade), one on the middle upper back right below my neck, and one on my left bicep.

The first one, on the lower back, hurt a lot but the guy was very heavy handed and I was very nervous.

The bicep is two tattoos. First one didn't hurt at all. Last one is much bigger and more detailed and was done about a month ago. It hurt but only on the more tender areas that are close to the underside of the arm. THAT made me clench my teeth a bit.

I have a super high pain tolerance and I think that only increased after having kids.. but all my tats were done post-babies so I can't compare.

Certainly none hurt enough to not make me want more... and my piercings, I think, hurt more but it was over quicker.

I'll say TINWOP again and this time provide the translation.. Urban Dictionary: tinwop

Hopefully will be getting my next one tomorrow or Sunday and will of course take a picture and post it. Hopefully it'll be allowed because it does technically involve female nudity.. 'tis art though

Some very wise friends of mine (who have 12, yes 12 kids!) shared some advice with me in the last 10 years that I wish they would've shared with me 20 years ago! They said, "ya gotta let the kids make the small mistakes while they're young, so they can learn from it. If ya don't, they'll make the BIG mistakes when they're older and you're not able to bail them out so easily!"

So I think, don't sweat the small stuff!
I think all you experienced parents should post a thread for us "newbies" to ask questions..... There are days where I think, " I could really use some feedback from somone who's done this a couple of times and lived through it...." (My mom is not so good at this since she was a single parent and worked most of the time while I was growing up - PLUS she can't seem to remember anything when I ask her - haha! Was I THAT BAD that she had to block it out???!!!)

Okay, freckles and all.. sand dollar on back/below my neck. It is supposed to be "broken" so the chunk missing on the right is intentional. The missing spot of color on the let was some attempt at making it look wet (artist's idea, not mine). Sounded cool at the time but didn't translate well. want to have it filled in but get crap from artists who don't want to finish another's work... even though the original artist is nowhere to be found! Duh!

And the sun/kanji on left bicep:

Sun/kanji is now surrounded by the cherry blossom branch (the one i can't afford to get colored).. ignore my fat arm! (ugh)

My first tattoo ever, not thought out at all (just picked flash) and done poorly. It is Eeyore, who was gray and faded completely in the first year. Destined for coverup eventually:

Last (but certainly not least) in the tattoo "hall of shame" is my 2nd, designed by my ex, who wears the other half. "Halfhearted" sure says it all there. LOL. Bad quality pic, sorry. This one is small and on my upper shoulder/back and also destined for coverup.

Finally, along the lines of what I'm doing on my right bicep (these drawings/tattoos are NOT mine, and I'm not gonna copy.. they're just inspiration) but basically it will be a punk pin-up girl with rainbow stars and music notes surrounding her:

I'm going to do something like this around "her" but obviously smaller:

thanks for sharing fierce. That cherry blossom is going to look great when you get it finished and I can't wait to see it. I for some reason find it really hot to see women with tattoos of women on them.. I tried explaining it to my wife, but she doesn't get it and calls me a freak.. I really like that idea you have and the music notes would also look really great, except maybe more around the stomach to side and a little lower. From what I've heard the side hurts the most, but it looks great on women.

As far as mine, I have to wait until Tuesday. The artist wants to show me a better version of what I want, but didn't have time to search for it this weekend. He said business has been really heavy lately. I could also ask him about fixing other artists work. I'm sure he wouldn't mind because he realizes the value of the $ and he does great work.
